corporate gallery

Below are the first in a series of textual lino prints.

The aim is to showcase these around London in an attempt to highlight the greed of the banks and to encourage our apathetic nation to WAKE UP and smell the bullshit that spews from the lips of our corporation run government. We decided the best way we could do this was to use corporate premises as an art gallery and where better than Canary Wharf. We were greeted with smiles and friendly faces - detect sarcasm. On the contrary of course as we were met with cold faces, a soulless landscape, grey grey grey and security cameras literally everywhere. However, nothing prepared us for the constant interrogation we were about to encounter from numerous police, plain clothed security and fancy dressed feds (i.e. Canary Wharf security uniform which is (coincidentally I'm sure) almost identical to real police uniform). Suffice to say our plan didn't last long as we were rudely told that due to terrorism laws and through fear of the occupation, we were banned from taking photos of our art. In a 'free' country Canary Wharf paints a very chilling picture of a dystopian future. The term police state spring to mind anyone? On the plus side, Occupy are instilling fear into the hearts of these giants. They are scared and so they should be.

galaxies not ghettos

Self initiated piece inspired by the recent UK riots and the United Vibrations song "Motto"....

In our greed driven capitalist society where kids grow up believing money equals happiness, we must instill hope, ambition and values in our young. David Cameron condemns the 'sickening' acts committed by youths but sees nothing wrong with profiting from war and the arms trade at the expense of countless civilian lives. Where is the moral high ground?

Please check out the amazingly talented musicians and visionaries United Vibrations who continually enlighten us with their positive words of wisdom and are a constant source of inspiration.

Last Sunday we made our way down to Occupy London to stand shoulder to shoulder with those fighting for change. We arrived with stencil making equipment to help make posters. What a gloriously peaceful and inspiring atmosphere. In just one day the area has developed into a democratic community with general assemblies, workshops, kitchen, library, even a tent university. As the movement continues to evolve, its time the 99% of us woke up and joined the revolution. The money from Vodafone's £6bn tax dodge alone could have prevented all of the cuts in public services over the past year. We must put an end to corporate greed and mercenary governments and start putting our people and planet first. Click here for the mission statement created today.

our world is not for sale

More, more, is the cry of a mistaken soul.
Less than all will not satisfy man.
-William Blake

New piece based on the unfettered greed that has trashed our global economy and natural world. Despite the ongoing resistance, greedy corporations, governments and nations continue to destroy our beautiful planet in the constant pursuit of power and capital gain. As economic and ecological disasters become the new norm, we must wake up and acknowledge the imminent devastation our people and planet are now facing. There are so many worthy causes to get involved in, particularly OCCUPY ...join the movement against corporate greed in tomorrow's global day of action as we follow in the footsteps of Occupy Wall Street and call for equality, justice and true democracy. The system is deeply unjust and as it spirals out of control we cannot rely on corrupt, complacent, avaricious politicians to implement change, the only way we can make a difference is if we stand united and take direct action. Exciting times lie ahead where all sorts of things seem possible that before were unimaginable. Together we can create a better world. Global resistance people!

block the bridge block the bill

A few pix from my birthday which was spent on Westminster Bridge attempting to save our NHS plus the lives of patients and medical staff through our mock operations. The government have shown their blatant disregard for democracy as they put through a bill that was in neither the lib dem or tory manifestos, which will see private healthcare corporations stand to make billions from our illnesses. We can only hope that decency and morality holds sway in the house of Lords today as they vote to scrap Lansley's ridiculous reforms.

How do you do? Well the last few weeks have been a whirlwind of magical fantastical fun as we installed our latest piece at the wondrous Playgroup fest then headed straight to the jaw droppingly stunning Wilderness for more frolics in the forest. Wowee! To say that astronomical amounts of fun were had is an absolute understatement...
