circle of life

Juliane from Germany, having grown up on the sea, requested a piece to symbolise the unfortunate parting of ways of her ocean-obsessed parents. We depicted the circle of life as her mother, who she describes as an Esmerelda-esque travelling soul, and calm and quiet silver fox of a father, both of whom still live on the sea, sail away in their separate lives.....

Electronic Awakening

Joshua, a producer of glitch IDM music, lover of DMT and all round lovely chap from England inspired us greatly with his story of pipe chugging metaphysical exploration. The piece tells the tale of a classic Victorian gentleman waltzing down the grubby streets of London, who at once experiences a sudden psychedelic, organic, mechanical blast upon the mind and body, finding himself thrust into an extreme transcendentally abstract and geometrically twisted journey....

roots of nostalgia

Beau travelled from Brighton UK for this piece, which tells the story of his dearest childhood memories. Having grown up in South London, the artwork depicts his treasured memories of times spent in Greenwich with his beloved Grandparents, such as feeding the animals in Greenwich Park, visiting the Cutty Sark and Royal Observatory.

Spark of Life

Helen travelled from Germany to have her beliefs told on skin. A Dada lover and avid believer in animal rights and the importance of power and creative energy, this collage-turned-tattoo depicts the connection with humans and our animal friends.

"Know that the same spark of life that is within you, is within all of our animal friends, the desire to live is the same within all of us...”

we never die

“We are travellers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. A little parenthesis in eternity.” Paolo Coelho

The Arrival

This piece depicts an uprooting of what British-born Tom describes as a sinking ship - the UK, as he embarks on a new life in Switzerland. A keen singer and Shaun Tan fan, this is a tribute to the wordless novel 'The Arrival', commemorating Tom's decision and courage to up and start a whole new life, embracing the unknown and the adventures that await him.

different, not less

This piece tells the story of a lovely lady's lifelong journey with Aspergers Syndrome. Having travelled a long and arduous road which led to her inner self, she is now able to remove the mask following many years of conformity, elevated with the discovery and acceptance of herself and her link with the universe.

2nd April is World Autism Awareness Day, which highlights the need to help improve the lives of children and adults who suffer from the disorder so they can lead full and meaningful lives.

Making a Killing

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the start of the Iraq war. Ten years of unprecedented violence and large scale massacres of civilians in a region possessing the world's second largest known oil reserves. This was an illegal war of aggression based on false evidence, fabrication and an unrelenting propaganda campaign. There were of course no weapons of mass destruction, no links to Al Qaeda. There was also no legal case...the invasion and attack was without sanction from the United Nations Security Council.

Before the 2003 invasion, Iraq's domestic oil industry was fully nationalised and closed to Western oil companies. A decade of war later, it is largely privatised and utterly dominated by foreign firms.
This immoral catastrophe, staggering in the criminality of both its planning and execution, is nothing more than an example of corporate driven Imperialism.
Those responsible should now be brought to justice for their horrifying and unforgivable crimes of war and against humanity.

live the life you love....

Romain, an avid skier who spends his days in the mountains, living out his passion, wanted this quote illustrated to represent his approach to life....

“When you stop doing things for fun you might as well be dead.” - Ernest Hemingway

happy birthday albert!

“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

take wing

This piece represents the customer's fascination with the beautiful and majestic owl. As a shy and introverted person she feels an affinity with the mysterious bird - wishing to own one (a keen Harry Potter fan) as well as to be one - often dreaming to escape at night, to cross the mediterranean sea to see her loved ones. The message in the artwork is that you already are the owl you wish to own - free to follow your spirit.

the best things in life aren't things.....

Our latest paste up depicting our consumer society's sickening obsession with material possessions which is all the more evident at christmas time as people feel compelled to 'prove' their love with untold amounts of meaningless items.

a capitalist christmas

free as a bird

This customer fell in love with a mixed-media collage Jade and I created and wanted it tattooed directly onto her skin. I don't normally take requests like this but as the geometry and nature encompassed exactly what she wanted, we made an exception and with a few adjustments, here is the end result.

This design depicts an emancipation from the shackles of hidden identity and to have the confidence to be yourself.
Jade created a mixed media collage including parts of my drawings based on the above theme which i then transferred to skin....its really exciting to see our styles merging together to push the boundaries of contemporary tattoo art.
